Bronzed Binocular on wooden tripod stand

Made of Brass/Wood, this Binocular, on Tripod Stand is a stunning collectors' item to display in your office or study. A binocular is an optical instrument for viewing objects magnified at long distances. The instrument was invented by Dutchman Hans Lipperhey of Middelburg in 1608.

Today's binoculars are usually double (binocular) and consist of two equal telescopes with low magnification. Both viewing halves contain an objective and an eyepiece and are equipped with a system of prisms to straighten the image (an astronomical telescope without these prisms gives an inverted image). Binoculars are therefore also called prism binoculars. With the prisms, a shortening of the binoculars is also achieved by collapsing the beam path.
